The English Angora, French Angora, Giant Angora, and Satin Angora are the four official types of Angora rabbits. Although each breed is distinctive in its own way, they share a need for frequent grooming to maintain their long, silky fur and keep it from matting. Angora rabbits are popular pets because of their velvety fur and distinctive appearance, both of which contribute to their calm, submissive demeanor. To maintain good health, provide a high-fiber diet of hay, fresh vegetables, and water, and provide a clean, large enclosure for them to live in. Matted fur can be avoided with consistent grooming and the occasional shearing to maintain their coats manageable.
