It is written by Dr. Hanif Gulmahamad, BCE, a scholar, scientist, poet, and writer who is an American of Guyanese descent. He left Guyana for the first time on May 29, 1968 to seek higher education in the United States of America. He returned in 1976 and spent two years lecturing in the Department of Biology, University of Guyana, Turkeyen. He left the country again in December 1977 and returned to southern California. This book, like the others he has written, attempts to preserve for posterity a record of what life was like back in the old days in the motherland. His generation is rapidly moving on to the hereafter and he felt an obligation to tell these stories so that they can be secured for future generations.
